Terriers defeated by Wildcats

The Terrier women's swimming team fell to conference-rival New Hampshire on Saturday (November 3rd), 162-138, despite winning four individual races and sweeping both diving events.
Junior Ingrid Salazar (Simi Valley, CA) led the Terriers with two first-place finishes in the 500-yard and 1000-yard freestyle events.
Freshman Lauren Foster (Lake Quivira, KS) won her second straight 200-yard freestyle race, winning in a time of 1:56.31. In the team's season-opening meet against Northeastern, Foster took first place in a time of 1:57.12.
Sophomore Kelli Sweeting (Sarasota, FL) won her first race of the season, taking first-place in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:09.80.
Sophomore diver Stacey Gallacher (Horseheads, NY) placed first in both 1- and 3-meter diving competitions, while senior Bridget Nord (Bloomington, IL) and sophomore Kristin Stratton (Aurora, CO) placed second and third, respectively, in both events.
Junior Karissa Lopez, the Terriers' top competitor in last year's America East championship meet, had three second-place finishes, losing each race by less than a second. In the 200-yard butterfly, Lopez had her best chance for a win, losing to New Hampshire's Ashley Fish by two-tenths of a second. Lopez finished in a time of 2:09.10, with Fish winning in a time of 2:09.08.
The Terriers will travel to UMass/Amhearst on Saturday (November 10th) to face the Minutemen in non-conference action.
