"Midnight Mayhem" Opens Terrier Basketball Seasons Tonight

BOSTON - The B. U. men's and women's basketball teams will "officially" begin their 2002-03 preseason practice with "Midnight Mayhem" on Friday, Oct. 11 on "The Roof". Admission is free and the doors will open at 11:00 p.m.

The event, a concept used by colleges to ring in the new basketball season, is designed to provide a spirited and fun atmosphere for B. U. basketball fans and to introduce the players and coaches of both teams.

The evening will feature:

· Each student receives a free t-shirt

· Performances by the B. U. Pep Band, B. U. Dance Team and Cheerleaders, as well as Phunk Phenomenon.

· Player Dunk Contest

· Student Frisbee Toss Contest

· Mykonos Pizza Pizza Dash

· Head coaches Dennis Wolff and Margaret McKeon shootout versus students

· Gift Certificate Prizes

· Terrier Shootout - students compete against Terrier players

· COUNTDOWN - At 11:59:30, the countdown begins for the entrance of the men's and women's basketball players.
