Novoice Boat Leads Terriers At Head of Connecticut

The women's novice eight finished second at the 28th annual Head of the Connecticut Regatta last Sunday (October 13th) to highlight the Terriers' team performance at the competition held in Middletown, CT. Despite the windy, wet conditions, the novice boat covered the course in 18:38.06, less than eight seconds behind the Northeastern University's victorious B team, which was clocked in 18:30.70. Bates College took third place behind B.U. with a time of 20:07.87.
In the championship quads, the B.U. boat finished in 20:35.50, which placed third behind the victorious Riverside Boat Club B boat (20:25.550 and runnerup Riverside Boat Club A (20:32.20). The Terriers, who were timed in 20:35.50, finished ahead of the University of Massachusetts (21:34.26.
In double sculls action, B.U. came up with a seventh-place finish in a field of 21. The Terriers finished in 21:11.95, just behind the Riverside Boat Club "D" team (20:58.23) and just in front of the University of New Brunswick-Fredericton Rowing Club (21:22.07).
Finally, in the varsity fours, the varsity "A" team rowed to a fifth-place, while the "B" team was ninth.
