BOSTON - Freshman forward Larissa Parr (Eau Claire, WI) was named the America East Spalding Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 17. Parr averaged 12.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in the Terriers' two wins over Northeastern and Albany last week.
Parr scored 14 of her 19 points in the second half as B.U. defeated host-Albany, 80-61, on Feb. 16. The six-foot forward was 6-for-6 from the field in the second half, and 9-for-12 on the game. The victory ensured the first winning season at B.U. in seven years and moved the Terriers (15-9, 8-5) into sole possession of third-place in the conference standings.
In the Terriers' 76-61 win over cross-town rival Northeastern, Parr had six points, four rebounds and three steals.
Since Parr moved into the starting lineup nine games ago, the Terriers are 7-2. On the season, Parr leads the team and ranks seventh in the conference in field goal percentage (47.8 %). Parr is fifth on the team in scoring (7.7 ppg) and sixth in rebounding (4.2 rpg).
Parr becomes the second Terrier this season to receive Rookie of the Week honors. Freshman forward Adrienne Norris (Delafield, WI) earned the award for the week of Jan. 21-27.
The Terriers next host Stony Brook on Thursday (Feb. 21) at 7 p.m. in their final regular-season home game.
