Terriers Close Out Regular Season With Win Over Rams

The Terrier women's swimming and diving team closed out its regular season by defeating the University of Rhode Island, 154-145, at the Tootell Athletic Center on Feb. 1, 2003.
Senior Karissa Lopez (Santa Fe, NM) had an outstanding meet, earning first-place finishes in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 and 200 butterfly. Lopez also swam the third leg of the 200 Medley Relay Team that placed second.
Three other Terrier swimmers were double winners.
Senior Kelli Sweeting (Sarasota, FL) took first in both the 100 and 200 Backstroke. In the 200 backstroke, Sweeting swam her fastest race of the season, finishing in 2:09:78.
Freshman Natalie Boyd (McKeesport, PA) finished first in the 200 and 500 Freestyle.
Senior Laurie Green (St. John's, Newfoundland) won both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke.
Freshman Meagan Breiland (Mesa, AZ) won the 100 Freestyle in a time of 54.36.
Junior diver Kristen Stratton (Aurora, CO) swept the diving events, winning in both the 1- and 3-meter diving.
The Terriers will enjoy a weekend off before competing at the America East Championships on Feb. 14-16 at the University of Maine.
