BOSTON - Boston University freshman guard Matt Wolff (Walpole, Mass. / Walpole) was named America East's Co-Rookie of the Week on Dec. 20 after scoring 11 points in the Terriers' 63-52 win at the University of Michigan on Dec. 14.
He shares the award with the University of Vermont's Ryan Schneider, who scored 14 points in the Catamount's 30-point home win over Binghamton. It was the first conference award for both players.
Wolff went 3-for-5 from behind the three-point line and 3-for-6 overall. He added three rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes of action off the bench.
Wolff has seen action in each of the Terriers' eight games this season, averaging 5.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest. He is shooting well from all over the court, making 16-of-30 shots from the field (53.3 percent), 6-of-15 from the three-point line (40.0 percent), and 5-of-6 from the free throw line (83.3 percent).
He's one of two Terriers shooting better than 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from the three-point line, and 80 percent from the free throw line. Sophomore forward Etienne Brower (West Hempstead, N.Y. / West Hempstead) is the other.
The Terriers (6-2, 1-0 America East) host Canisius College on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 3 p.m.
