
Vanderwal Earns America East Player of the Week Honors

BOSTON - Senior co-captain Rachael Vanderwal (Stoney Creek, Ont.) was named the America East Co-Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday. Vanderwal helped the Terriers earn home wins over two former America East schools, Northeastern and Delaware. The weekly honor was shared with Stony Brook's Mykeema Ford.
In Monday???s home opener against Northeastern, Vanderwal scored a career-high 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting and added game highs of eight assists and six steals to guide BU to a convincing 73-46 win.
On Sunday, Vanderwal helped the Terriers pull out a thrilling 61-59 victory over Delaware by posting her fourth career double-double with 13 points and a career-best 10 rebounds.
Through three games, Vanderwal is Boston U.???s leader in scoring (16.3 ppg), rebounding (7.3 rpg) and steals (1.7 spg).
Vanderwal and the Terriers return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 30, when they visit Canisius in the first ever meeting between the two schools. Game time is 6 p.m.
