Quartet Lead Terrier Women Swimmers At America East Meet

BALTIMORE, MD-Lauren Foster, Lidija Breznikar, Megan White, and Brooks Wallace provided the majority of points for the Terrier women's swimming and diving team at the America East Conference Championship hosted by UMBC on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Feb. 18-20.
Foster (Lake Quivira, KS) was the team's top point producer with 41, while Breznikar (Kotpje, Slovenia) was a close second with 39. White (Falmouth, ME) was next with 31 points, and Wallace (Duxbury, MA) was fourth with 27 points.
In all, the Terriers scored 316.5 points, which placed them sixth. New Hampshire, which trailed the leader by 62 points entering the third and final day of competition, came from behind to wrap up its first league title since 1999 with 754 points. Northeastern was second (737), followed by host UMBC (502), Maine (413), Stony Brook (390.5), the Terriers, Binghamton (212), and Vermont (180).
Foster's top event was the 50 free, in which she finished third in a time of :24.77, which accounted for 16 points. In addition, she earned 13 points by finishing sixth in the 100 free (:53.45) and 12 points with a seventh-place finish in the 200 free (1:56.80).
Breznikar had a fifth-, sixth-, and seventh-place finish. She was fifth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:34.69 (14 points), sixth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.77 (13 points), and seventh in the 200 IM in 2:10.32 (12 points).
Both White and Wallace accounted for their point totals in the one- and three-meter dives. White scored 31 total points with a third-place finish in the three-meter event (442.20, 16 points) and a fourth at one meter (252.75, 15 points). In the meantime, Wallace chipped in with 27 points on a fourth-place finish at three meters (439.80, 15 points) and a seventh at one meter (228.20, 12 points).
