Two Terriers Reach Petite Finals At World Rowing Championships

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands - Boston University rowers Jozef Klaassen and Will Daly competed in shells that finished seventh and eighth, respectively, at the World Under-23 Championships that concluded on July 24 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The boats in which the two Terriers competed each qualified for the petite finals.
Klaassen, a junior from New Zealand who holds a dual citizenship with Holland, rowed in the Dutch heavyweight straight four without coxswain. The boat won the petite finals to take seventh overall.
Meanwhile, Daly, a senior from Vail, Colo., represented the United States in the lightweight straight four without coxswain. The entry placed second in the petite finals to capture eighth overall.
During the past intercollegiate season, Daly rowed in the number seven seat, while Klaassen was in the five seat for the Terriers, who enjoyed their finest season ever. In post-season competition, they advanced to the Grand Finals at both the Eastern Sprints and Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship. At the Sprints, they finished fourth, while they were sixth at the IRAs.
