Wojtkiewicz Named Assistant Coach

Coach John Wojtkiewicz
John Wojtkiewicz '95 rejoins the Terriers as Assistant Coach working with both the Novice and Varsity squads, as well as serving a role in recruiting and program administration. Previously from 2000 to 2003 Coach Wojtkiewicz (pronounced voy-kev-its) was an assistant coach working with the men's varsity squad. The past two seasons Coach Wojtkiewicz was coaching juniors in Marina Del Rey, CA while his wife completed graduate studies at UCLA.
Coach Wojtkiewicz is an alumna of the College of Arts and Sciences where he received his BS in History. While at BU, Coach Wojtkiewicz competed for two years with the men's varsity squad. During this time he placed 6th at the 1994 IRA National Championships in the Open 4+ and placed 6th at the 1995 IRAs in the Varsity 4-. Since then he has continued to compete in various regattas around the continent such as the Head of the Charles and Canadian Henley.
Coach Wojtkiewicz has over ten years of coaching experience at a variety of competitive levels. Starting as the Head Coach of Clark University Crew in Worcester from 1996-1998, and moving on to coach men at BU from 2000-2003. In the summer of 2003 John and his wife Sarah moved to Los Angeles where he landed a position as Boys Varsity Coach with the Marina Aquatic Center (MAC) Junior Crew. While with MAC Coach Wojtkiewicz brought three boats to the Cincinatti National Invitational, and helped the boys post their first winning season ever.
A native of Mansfield, MA, Coach Wojtkiewicz has also spent several years in the private sector in sales and business consulting/analysis, notably riding out and surviving the dotcom boom and bust. In his spare time Coach Wojtkiewicz enjoys driving back and forth from Boston to Providence, seeing his wife when he can, and rowing.
