Men's Basketball Picked Fifth in AE Preseason Coaches' Poll
November 1, 2006 | Men's Basketball
The Boston University men's team has been picked to finish fifth in the America East preseason coaches' poll, as announced by the conference office today. The Terriers received one first place vote and 42 points. Head Coach Dennis Wolff returns co-captains Omari Peterkin and Brian Macon to this year's young, but talented squad.
The men’s team finished the 2005-06 season with a 12-16 record and a 9-7 conference mark. The Terriers’ were felled with injuries during last year’s campaign coupled with several off-season transfers. The Terriers have reshaped their roster, adding five freshmen and a transfer, and refocused their efforts into getting back on the winning track they have established in the last few seasons.
With a new make-up to the team, head coach Dennis Wolff is optimistic about the talented returning players and key additions. Brian Macon and Omari Peterkin are Boston’s top returnees, while redshirt freshman Tyler Morris and freshman Corey Lowe will be looked upon as key contributors.
Highlights of the schedule include an appearance at the Holiday Festival at Madison Square Garden, and two games that will be played at BU’s Agganis Arena when Atlantic-10 opponents George Washington and UMass come to town on Nov. 10 and Dec. 6, respectively.
