Swimming Opens Competition at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON – The Boston University swimming program hosted the first two days of the Terrier Invitational at BU’s Aquatics Center. Lidija Breznikar and Eve Kinsella highlighted the days events with wins in their respective races.
In the 200-yard free relay, Brigette O’Shaugnessy, Emily Munday, Ali Chester and Eve Kinsella made up BU’s fourth place-finishing team. The relay clocked in at one minute, 38.99 seconds.
Lidija Breznikar and Kinsella finished second and fourth, respectively, in the 200 IM. Breznikar touched in 2:07.90, while Kinsella clocked in at 2:09.14.
The 400-medley relay team of Chester, Breznikar, O’Shaughnessy and Kinsella placed third in 3:57.68.
Breznikar opened day two with a win in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:34.24. Eve Kinsella also won in the 200 freestyle with a 1:52.10 time.
In the 100 backstroke, Chester was BU’s top finisher with a third place time of 1:00.23. The women’s 800-free relay finished second, touching the wall in 7:45.49.
Arik Seiler had a notable finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:40.90.
On day two, Moodie Griffin placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:01.16. Javier Fonseca finished 11th, while Evan Morris was close behind in 12th.
The men’s 800 free relay team touched in 7:17.34 for fourth place.
Day three events begin at 10 am on Sunday.
