
Swimming and Diving Sweeps Weekly Conference Honors

BOSTON - The Boston University swimming and diving teams swept the America East's weekly awards, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. Arik Seiler and Marina Morie were named AE Men’s and Women’s Swimming Performers of the Week, while Brian Lawler and Alex Crerar earned Men’s and Women's Diving Performers of the Week honors, respectively.
Seiler won the 100-yard backstroke in 54.77 seconds, and also claimed victory in the 200 IM in 1:58.27. He won his third individual race in the 100-yard freestyle in 47.67 all against Maine on Dec. 9. Seiler's performances helped lead BU to its first dual-meet win of the season by a 153-126 margin.
Morie won the 200 free in a time of 1:56.80 and the 500 freestyle in 5:11.00. She also swam the third leg of the 400-freestyle relay team that won in a time of 3:34.13. The women's team defeated Maine with a score of 171-112.
Lawler, who is undefeated on the season, won the 1-meter dive with a score of 311.33 and the 3-meter dive with 323.10.
Crerar won both the 1- and 3-meter dives with scores of 264.90 and 296.10, respectively. She has finished on top in seven diving events this season.
BU returns to the pool after the New Year's with a dual meet at UNC on Jan. 6.
