BOSTON - Sophomore attacker Jenny Hauser (Alexandria, Va.) has been named to the 2006 Preseason Tewaaraton Watch List, it was announced by the award's selection committee on Thursday. The 30 players on the list were nominated by coaches across all three divisions and are early season hopefuls for the Tewaaraton Trophy, awarded annually to the nation's top collegiate lacrosse player.
Hauser, the 2005 Inside Lacrosse Rookie of the Year, will be looking to build off an outstanding freshman season, in which she tallied 70 points on 54 goals and 16 assists. The point total was the fourth-highest in BU history, while the 54 goals ranked second all-time.
A preseason first-team All-American, Hauser was a first-team all-region selection as a freshman. She is one of only five sophomores among the 30 student-athletes named to the Tewaaraton Watch List.
Hauser and the Terriers will open their 2006 campaign on Wednesday, March 1, with a road contest at Massachusetts. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
