Swimming and Diving Defeats Stony Brook

BOSTON - The Boston University men's and women's swimming and diving teams won 23 of 32 events, including a sweep of the diving events, as both teams cruised to victories over Stony Brook on Saturday evening. The women defeated the Seawolves 176.5 to 117.5 while the men earned 175 points to SBU's 120.
The men's and women's 200 yard medley relay teams each notched a victory at the start. The relay of Sarah Doersam, Emily Munday, Joanna Weinstein and Maria McIntyre touched the wall in 1:51.58. The men's team of Jeff Wurm, Eric Carlson, Matt Rickett and Arik Seiler took first with a time of 1:34.50 - nearly two seconds faster than Stony Brook.
BU was a big winner in the men's 200 yard breaststroke, placing swimmers 1-4. The Terriers took first through third places in the men's 500 free and the women's 100 butterfly.
Weinstein won two individual events for BU - the 100 and the 200 butterfly. On the men's side Seiler and Wurm were big individual winners. Seiler took first in the 100 and the 200 freestyle, while Wurm placed first in the 100 and the 200 backstroke.
The Terriers' Tess Waresmith and Andre Watson won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.
