Mullin's Isis Second In Oxford-Cambridge Reserve Race
April 11, 2007 | Men's Rowing
LONDON - Boston University men's crew's Anthony Mullin (CAS '06) rowed the three-seat for Oxford's Isis boat, but the OUBC fell to Cambridge's Goldie in the Boat Race's Reserve Race for the third consecutive year on Saturday, April 7.
Cambridge's reserves finished in a time of 17:48 to Oxford's 18:00. Goldie now leads the Reserve Race series 28-15.
Isis and Goldie were neck-and-neck through to the finish-end of Craven Cottage, Fulham FC's football club, but Isis had a very slight lead at that point. Both crews drew warnings from the umpire, and a clash was avoided narrowly at Hammersmith Bridge as Goldie passed the timing point just a second ahead of Isis, in 7:01.
Goldie made a push between Hammersmith Bridge and St. Pauls to take a length and a half lead approaching Chiswick Steps and extended that to four lengths by the finish.
