Klaassen, Klem, Mennigen Compete In Rowing World Cup

BOSTON - Sophomore Meindert Klem and alumni Jozef Klaassen and Florian Mennigen competed in the rowing World Cup in Amsterdam Bosbaan, Netherlands from June 22 to 24. Klem placed 10th in the heavy quad, Klaassen finished 10th in the heavy pair and Mennigen placed seventh in the straight four.
Klem rowed three-seat for the Netherlands with bow Floris Lievens, Robin Van Keeken and Olivier Sieglaar to finish in 5:52.24.
Klaassen stroked the pair, with Olaf Van Andel, for the Netherlands. The boat finished in 6:36.83.
Germany's three-seat in the coxless four, Mennigen rowed with bow Philipp Naruhn, Tobias, Kuehne and Falk Mueller to finish in 5:38.45. With the seventh place finish, Mennigen's four earned one point in the overall standings for Germany.
