Six Terriers Place at Brute/Binghamton Open

VESTAL, N.Y. - Highlighted by a second-place finish by freshman Hunter Meys at 174 pounds, the Boston University wrestling team opened its tournament schedule at the Brute/Binghamton Open on Saturday. In all, six of the 16 Terriers who competed placed in their respective brackets.
Meys won his first four matches, including two by fall, to reach the 174-pound championship match against Cornell's Steve Anceravage, who pulled off a 9-5 decision.
Junior Ryan Buff reached the 133-pound semifinals before finishing fourth, while sophomore John Hall overcame an opening-round loss at 197 by reeling off five straight wins to earn fifth place.
Sophomore Freddy Santaite went 5-2 on the day at 125 en route to a sixth-place finish. Senior Mike Roberts suffered a pair of narrow overtime losses but managed to place sixth at 149 and junior C.J. Inglin went 5-2 in the 165-pound bracket to also place sixth.
The Terriers will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 23, when they travel to Philadelphia to compete in the Keystone Classic.
