
Women's Varsity Eight Advances at Henley Women's Regatta

BOSTON - The Boston University women's rowing team's varsity eight advanced to the next round of racing in the Sports Council Cup race at the 2008 Henley Women's Regatta Saturday morning on the Thames River in Henley, England.
The varsity eight will meet the JV eight on Sunday at 12:35 p.m. GMT. The Terriers beat the eight from Furnivall/Auriol Kensington/Wallingford on Saturday by a half-length, crossing the line in 5:07. The JV eight received a bye for the first round.
Neither of the coxed fours had the success of the varsity eight, with each falling in their respective races for the Copas Cup. The "A" four fell to Osiris by 1 3/4 lengths, while the "B" four lost to Thames Rowing Club by three lengths.

Varsity eight defeated Furnivall/Auriol Kensington/Wallingford by 1/2L in 5:07
"A" 4+ lost to Osiris by 1 3/4L (Osiris finished in 5:52)
"B" 4+ lost to Thames R.C. by 3L (Thames finished in 6:00)
