
Women's Rowing Novice Eight Places Fifth at Princeton Chase

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - A week after finishing second in the Championship Fours at the Head of the Charles, the Boston University women's rowing team competed at the Princeton Chase, placing 14th in the Varsity Eights and fifth in the Novice Eights.
Racing in a new Vespoli V1 that was named "DeWolfe Pack" during a dedication last weekend in honor of the DeWolfe family for their support of the program, the V8 boat coxed by Alex Thornton and stroked by Brittany Tovee recorded a time of 15:56.977, finishing ahead of top boats from programs like Northeastern, Indiana, Cornell and Columbia. Yale won the race at 14:46.323.
During the novice eight, the BU boat coxed by Mia Serabian and stroked by Kate Rockett posted a time of 16:58.871, almost 16 seconds ahead of Northeastern. Princeton captured the victory with a time of 16:13.883.
The Terriers will next compete out of the DeWolfe Boathouse on Nov. 14 in the Foot of the Charles.
