Four menbers of the Boston University women's rowing team were named to RowOntario's Crew of the Year earlier this week. Competing for the Ontario Rowing Club this past summer at the 127th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, junior Mariel Boomgaardt, sophomore Cheryl Copson, senior Sally Machin and junior Brittany Tovee teamed together to help the Under 23 Women's Eight team take first place with a time of 6:20.75.
At the start of the 2009-10 season, Boomgaardt, Machin and Tovee helped BU's Championship Fours boat record the top time among the collegiate crews to finish second overall in the race at the Head of the Charles.
The Terriers will now have to wait until March 13 before formally competing again. On that date, they will face off against Clemson in South Carolina.
