Four Swimmers Named to AE All-Academic Teams

Cambridge, Mass. - Four members of the swimming and diving program have earned America East All-Academic team accolades, the conference has announced. On the men's side, sophomore Bryon Kallert was honored for his accomplishments in the classroom, while juniors Emily Munday and Brigette O'Shaughnessy and senior Christina Ruggiero also received the honors.
Kallert, a Milford, N.J. native, earned a 3.38 in BU's School of Management as a business administration and management major. Munday (Butte, Mont.) maintained a 3.47 GPA as a biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences and her classmate, O'Shaughnessy, earned a 3.51 GPA in the School of Management. Rounding out the group, was Ruggiero (Wilmington, Del.), who collected a 3.51 GPA as an economics major in CAS.
To be nominated for the distinction, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve for their team and participate in at least 50 percent of their team's games or competitions. In the classroom, student-athletes must have a 3.30 GPA and have completed at least one calendar year at their institution. Freshman are not eligible for consideration.
