BOSTON - Currently ranked 19th in the nation, the Boston University women's rowing team and first-year head coach Stacey Rippetoe kick off the spring season Saturday morning on the Charles River with Syracuse, beginning at 7 a.m. Still without a win at home against the Orange, the Terriers currently have possession of the Kittell Cup and will look to become the first in the seven-year competition to claim the title two consecutive years.
Last year, fighting an increasing cross/headwind and a chop in the water for the first 750m of the course, the Terriers' varsity eight earned the victory with a five-second win over Syracuse on Onondaga Lake in New York. The second varsity eight also placed ahead of the Orange, winning 7:31.1 against 7:39.6.
