
Swimming and Diving Defeats Northeastern, UNH

Durham, N.H. - The Boston University women's swimming and diving team remained undefeated in dual-meet action as it defeated Northeastern, 233-66, and New Hampshire, 205-94, on Monday afternoon. The Terriers won 13-of-16 events, including multiple individual wins for Melinda Matyas, Emily Munday and Amanda Schmitz.
The victories were bookended by the relay teams as the 200-medley opened the meet with a winning time of 1:44.93 and the 400-free relay closed things out with a time of 3:31.21 - six seconds faster than its closest competitor.
Matyas continued her dominance of the 1M and 3M with winning scores of 270.10 and 296.50, respectively. Munday was a multiple-event winner as she claimed first in the 100 back (57.17), and 100 fly (55.36). Schmitz also had a big afternoon with three victories. Her afternoon began with a win in the 200 fly (2:05.78), followed by the 500 free (5:00.64) and the 200 IM (2:08.62).
Also picking up wins on Monday were Brigette O'Shaughnessy (1,000 free, 10:25.61), Laure Drake (200 free, 1:54.31), Kirsten Tullis (50 free (23.90) and Maria McIntyre (52.62).
