Junior Darryl Partin has been named this week's GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week after scoring 30 of his 32 points in the second half during the Boston University men's basketball team's 66-61 victory over Cornell.
In three games total, he averaged 12.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 1.1 steals to help BU go 2-1 on the week with wins over the three-time defending Ivy League champion Big Red and 2010 NIT participant Nevada (66-57).
Partin had one of the best offensive halves in program history against Cornell, shooting 9-for-11 from the field and 5-for-6 from beyond the arc. He also went to the charity stripe eight times and drained seven attempts to finish the game with a career-high 32 points, topping his previous best of 30 while at La Salle.
His presence was needed in the game, as BU shot only 33.3 percent in the first half and trailed 35-28 with 14:02 remaining. After a layup and made free throw by classmate Jake O'Brien, Partin would score 16 of the game's next 19 points, including 13 straight, to give the Terriers a 47-38 lead. Cornell would rally back, but Partin and company would hit their free throws down the stretch for the victory.
