BOSTON - Senior Alaina Krumbach earned all-New England region first-team honors for the Boston University women's rowing team, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announce Tuesday afternoon. Three Terriers in Lauren Box, Claire McNicholas and Lesley Pepin were also named to the 2010 scholar-athlete squad.
Krumbach sat in the stroke spot on the varsity eight boat during the spring season and helped BU finish 11th at the Eastern Sprints and with a perfect record at the Dale England Cup, including wins over Indiana and Central Florida.
McNicholas (Sr., journalism: news editorial), Pepin (Jr., biochemistry and molecular biology) and Box (So., international relations) all rowed on the second varsity eight boat, helping the Terriers defeat Syracuse and place 12th at the Eastern Sprints. Both McNicholas and Pepin were named to last year's academic team.
