Men's Results | Women's Results

BOSTON - The Boston University cross country teams competed at the Boston College Invitational Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park, with the men's team finishing fourth in the nine-team meet and the women's squad placing sixth in the 10-team meet.

On the men's side, two Terriers earned top-15 finishes, with senior Ken Haltom securing a 14th-place finish with a time of 25:47 and junior Joe Greenspun notching a time of 25:57, good for 15th place. BU's next finisher was senior James Weider, who recorded a 22nd-place finish with a time of 26:07. Sophomore Michael Caputo was next for the Terriers, crossing the finish line in 26:19, good for 29th place. Caputo's classmate, Terence Galasso, rounded out BU's top runners with a 60th-place finish and a time of 27:24.

The Terriers recorded 132 points as a team, good for fourth place behind Northeastern (29), Albany (43) and Maine (94). Brown (134), New Hampshire (153), Stony Brook (177), Boston College (179) and Rhode Island (247) followed BU.

On the women's side, junior Katie Matthews was BU's top runner as she finished the 5K course in 10th place with a time of 18:08. Senior Kathleen Davies secured a 14th-place finish with a time of 18:26, while freshman Rosa Moriello placed 29th (18:42) in her Terrier debut. Sophomore Nikki Long finished with a time of 19:18, good for 50th place, and junior Madeline Steiner rounded out BU's top runners with a time of 19:30 and a 61st-place finish.

With 142 points, the Terriers trailed Boston College (31), New Hampshire (74), Albany (120), Stony Brook (131) and Maine (139). Northeastern (147), Massachusetts (193), Rhode Island (217) and Brown (248) followed BU.

Both squads return to action in the America East Pre-Championships at Franklin Park on Sept. 19.
