
Men's Cross Country Competes in Mayor's Cup

BOSTON - The Boston University men’s cross country team sent six runners to the 2011 Mayor’s Cup at Franklin Park on Sunday afternoon, as the Terriers prep for the upcoming America East Championship.
Senior Chris Mercurio led the Terriers, as he posted a time of 26:17 to finish in 76th place. The race was comprised of collegiate and non-collegiate athletes with various affiliations. Mercurio finished ninth among runners at the college level.
As a team, the Terriers finished in eighth place, second among Division I schools.
Joining Mercurio in the 8K event were freshmen Alex Civitano (27:15, 119th place) and Zach Marriott (27:20, 123rd), senior Brian Greenfield (27:23, 126th), and rookies Matt Solomon (27:23, 127th) and John McKeon (27:59, 152nd).
Up next for BU is the America East Championship on Saturday at Albany, N.Y. The Terriers will look to defend their title beginning at 11:30 a.m.
