After scoring her 1,000th career point on Sunday at Massachusetts, senior guard Alex Young has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

The Hickory, N.C., native became the 19th Terrier to reach the 1,000-point plateau. She needed 10 points to acheive the feat, and she hit 1,000 on the nose with a three-pointer in the second half. She finished with 12 points on the afternoon and 1,002 points for her career.

Young also led all scorers with 24 points on Friday night to help the Terriers erase a 21-point deficit to defeat Providence, 65-62. She was named the America East Player of the Game for her effort.
