BOSTON - Set for three games in three days, the Boston University men's basketball team will conclude a five-game road trip with the TicketCity Legends Classic at the University of Rhode Island, beginning with Cleveland State on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
The defending America East champion Terriers (0-3) opened the event at the University of Texas back on Nov. 13, losing the contest, 82-46. Earning 94 points in the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll to check in 26th overall, the 2011 co-Horizon League regular season champion Vikings (4-0) began the Legends Classic that same day with a 71-58 upset at then-No. 7 Vanderbilt.
BU owns a 2-1 advantage in the series after pulling out a 64-62 victory at Case Gym back in 2003. The two teams will be meeting on a neutral court for the first time.
After Friday's game, the Terriers will meet host Rhode Island (0-3) on Saturday (Nov. 26) at 5 p.m. and will then conclude the Legends Classic with Hofstra (2-2) on Sunday (Nov. 27) with a 12 p.m. tip-off time.
BU and URI first met during the 1916-17 season and will be playing each other for the first time since the Rams earned a 65-51 win at the Ryan Center on Dec. 22, 2006.
Member of the America East from 1994-2001, the Pride hold an 11-10 edge over the Terriers. The two squads split in 2001 with the home team winning both games.
Following the three-day event, the Terriers will return home and host Delaware on Wednesday (Nov. 30) at Case Gym with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.
