CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After helping the Boston University men's basketball team earn two victories at the TicketCity Legends Classic this past weekend by averaging 23.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg, senior Darryl Partin has been named the America East Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
A Seattle, Wash. native, Partin started the tournament by contributing 24 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals and nearly led BU to an upset win over Cleveland State Friday in a 63-62 defeat.
On the following day, he poured in 20 points to lead the Terriers to their first win of the season, a 70-64 triumph at Rhode Island. After snapping the Rams' 32-game home win streak against non-conference opponents, Partin closed his week out by tallying 25 points and five boards in a 68-61 win over Hofstra on Sunday.
For the season, Partin, the league's lone returning first-team all-conference selection from last year, is averaging a conference-best 22.7 points per game, which also ranks eighth nationally. He previously earned Player of the Week accolades on Dec. 27, 2010.
Seeking their third straight win, the Terriers will next host Delaware on Wednesday (Nov. 30) at 7 p.m.
