
Women's Basketball Hosts Marist on Saturday

The Boston University women’s basketball team returns to Case Gym for the first time since Nov. 26, to host Marist on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is schedule for 1 p.m.
BU (4-4) is coming off its first road win of the season, a 59-54 victory at Yale on Wednesday night. BU never trailed in the game against the Bulldogs, despite being out-scored 40-29 in the second half. The Terriers built a 30-14 lead in the first 20 minutes after limiting Yale to an 18 percent field goal percentage (4-of-22). BU finished with a 39.7 clip (23-of-58) while Yale completed 17-of-47 shots for a 36.2 mark.
Senior Caroline Stewart led the Terriers with 14 points and 14 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Junior Mo Moran added 13 points and sophomore Melissa Gallo netted a career-high 23 points for BU.
Marist arrives in Boston riding a three-game winning streak, as the Red Foxes most recently dismissed Hartford, 57-57, on Dec. 1. Senior guard Corielle Yarde leads the team with 15.5 points per game and 6.2 rebounds while senior forward Brandy Gang is second on the squad with 9.7 ppg and 4.5 rebounds per game.
The Terriers are 4-3 all-time against the Red Foxes, as Marist has won the last three meetings, including a 71-55 decision in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., last season. BU’s last win over Marist was on Jan. 3, 2004, as the Terriers posted a 72-46 victory at Case Gym.
Saturday’s game is NCAA Take a Kid to the Game Day and all kids will receive FREE admission to the game with the purchase of an adult ticket (offer valid for kid's 8th grade and younger and at the ticket office only). The first 500 fans will receive FREE pom poms and there will be pregame poster making and face painting in the lobby. Following the game there will be shoot around for all fans with the team down on the court.
BU will return to the road for its next five games, starting with a trip to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to face Boston College on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
