
Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Boston College, 227-72

BOSTON - The Boston University women's swimming and diving team defeated crosstown rival Boston College, 227-72, taking first place in all 16 events on Tuesday evening at BU's Competition Pool.
The 200-medley relay team of Maria McIntyre, Kristen Connors, Kirsten Tullis, and Lauren Drake cruised to victory with a time of 1:45.51 - over five seconds faster than the next closest competitor.
Megan Happ won the 1,000 free by 23 seconds in a time of 10:27.98. Kendra Cheng (1:52.79) and Lauren Drake (1:54.86) finished first and second, respectively, in the 200 free, while McIntyre led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 100 back (58.55). Finishing second and third in the 100 back was Kara Zebrowski (59.75) and Katie Radin (1:00.84).
In the 100 breast, Connors (1:04.89), Charlotte Naylor (1:07.78) and Clara Van Allen (1:08.98) went 1-2-3, and Sarah Doersam won the 200 fly in 2:06.12. Kirsten Tullis and Liz Floyd claimed first and second in the 50 free with times of 23.88 and 24.97, respectively, while Drake, McIntyre and Paige Fults swept the 100 free.
Chend won her second individual race of the day in the 200 back (2:06.63) with Zebrowski and Francesca Ferrante placing second and third.
Connors was also a multiple event winner with a winning time of 2:21.57 in the 200 breast. Doersam, picking up her second victory of the afternoon, won the 500 free in 5:05.98 and Floyd won the 100 fly in 58.29.
Chelsea Glincman won the 1M with a score of 247.87 and the 3M (255.37).
The 400 free relay of Floyd, Tullis, Drake and McIntyre closed out the meet with a winning time of 3:29.44.
