
BU Alum Earns Three Gold Medals at USRowing National Championships

Mercer Lake, N.J. - Racing for the Vesper Boat Club, Boston University women's rowing alum Jeannette Daley ('09) captured three gold medals this past weekend at the USRowing Elite National Championships. The former Terrier won the lightweight 2x and 4x while also posting the top American time in the lightweight 1x.
Starting off the competition in the 1x, Daley finished with a time of 8:00.52, 4.91 seconds faster than the next closest boat. She took second overall, as a Canadian boat won the race at 7:56.78, finishing 3.74 seconds ahead for the victory.
An hour later, she was back in the water helping her partner win the lightweight 2x race at 7:23.07 with the next boat 3.16 seconds behind them.
Daley concluded the competition in the lightweight 4x, posting a time of 6:50.22 for her third gold medal. The boat won by a 3.11 second margin.
A First Team All-New England region honoree at BU, Daley sat in the No. 5 seat her final season in 2009 and helped the Terriers capture the Kittel Cup against Syracuse and reach the Petite Final during the Eastern Sprints.
