
Four Terriers Excel over Summer Break

BOSTON - Four members of the Boston University women's rowing team earned medals this summer, led by junior Gabby Cutler winning the senior eights at the USRowing Club National Championships.
Cutler's boat defeated the crew favored to win the USRowing Pre Elite Camp by more than a second. She also received a silver medal in the women's intermediate 4x. Later at the 129th Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, she stroked the Under 23 eight boat to victory and followed with a victory in the senior eights as well. In the championship eights, her boat posted the top American time and finished second overall.
Competing at the U23 World Championship Trials, senior Claire Kuehnel took second in the women's 2x. She also placed third in the U23 2x and senior 2x at the Canadian Henley.
Senior Cheryl Copson finished fourth in the senior 4x at the Canadian Henley. Leading up to the event, she competed at the RowOntario Championships, placing first in the U23 2x and the senior 4x.
Incoming freshman Kelly Jackson also excelled at the Canadian Henley, placing second in the junior "A" single and third in the junior "A" double event.
The Terriers will begin practicing once school resumes and will open the season with the 47th annual Head of the Charles, which will take place on Oct. 22-23.
