Terriers Take First Place at Codfish Bowl

BOSTON - Paced by sophomore Rosa Moriello, the Boston University women’s cross country team took home first place at the 2011 Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park in Boston.
Moriello finished third in the individual competition with a time of 18:25. Teammates Kathleen Davies and Nikki Long finished in fifth and sixth-place, respectively. Davies posted a time of 18:47 while Long crossed the line 12 seconds later with a time of 18:59.
Madeline Steiner was one of four Terriers to place in the top-20, as the senior finished with a time of 19:20. Eight runners in all represented BU in the program’s first win of the season.
Other finishers for the Terriers included sophomore Sharone Moverman (38th – 20:09), senior Mariko Takahashi (40th – 20:12), senior Anna Lukes (55th – 20:33) and newcomer Ashli Tagoai (72nd – 20:53). There were 251 runners that participated in the 32nd annual Codfish Bowl.
BU will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 8, when the Terriers come back to Franklin Park for the New England Championships.
