CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Matt Paulson of the Boston University men’s cross country team was named America East Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Paulson finished 32nd and was the top America East runner at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday with a time of 24:43. It marked the second time this season that Paulson has been the Terriers’ top finisher, as he also raced to a first-place finish at the Bryant Invitational on Sept. 8.
Paulson's efforts placed him among the top 10 percent of runners on the day and helped BU outpace the other America East squads. The Terriers finished 15th in a field of 37. It was also Paulson’s best time of the season by more than 40 seconds.
Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams will be in action on Sunday (Oct. 7) when the Terriers compete at the New England Championships in Westfield, Mass.
