
Maurice Watson Jr. Tabbed America East Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After helping lead the Boston University men's basketball team to a pair of victories, freshman Maurice Watson Jr. has been named America East Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
The 5-foo-10 guard averaged 18.0 ppg, 5.0 apg and 2.5 spg in the two games, as the Terriers claimed a 74-44 win over Coastal Carolina and a 74-66 victory at St. Peter's.
Earning BU's first top rookie weekly award since the end of the 2010-11 season, Watson tallied a team-high 15 points against the Chanticleers before scoring a personal-best 21 points against the Peacocks. He also contributed a team and season-high seven assists along with four steals at St. Peter's.
A native of Lansdowne, Pa., he is currently averaging 10.4 ppg, good for 18th in the conference, and a league-best 5.1 apg.
Currently on a two-game win streak, the Terriers will return to action on Thursday (Dec. 6) at Coastal Carolina with action set to tip off at 7 p.m.
