2012 CAA Championship Preview
Twenty-four hours before making its first-ever appearance in the CAA Championship, the Boston University women's rowing team held a practice session on the race course at the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Va.
The fourth-annual CAA Championship will feature seven schools - BU, two-time champion Northeastern (2009, 2011), 2010 champion Buffalo, Drexel, Old Dominion, George Mason and Delaware.
Racing will begin on Sunday with the varsity four boat at 9:30 a.m.
While the varsity members were practicing, the novices did compete Saturday morning on the Charles River.
Coxed by freshman Katie Scott and stroked by classmate Carol Chase Peterson, the novice eight finished second in a race featuring Radcliffe and Northeastern. The Terriers lost to the Huskies by seven seconds at the Beanpot and finished ahead of them by 18 seconds on Saturday.
Radcliffe won the race at 8:12.5 with BU finishing behind at 8:21.5.
