After helping guide the varsity eight boat to the Grand Final at the IRA National Championship Regatta and a Petite Final victory at the Eastern Sprints, Andrew Reswow has been named Most Valuable Player of the Boston University men's crew.
Sitting in the five seat, Reswow and the Terriers captured the Bill Cup against Dartmouth and the Lusins Cup against Columbia during the regular season. BU followed up at the Eastern Sprints by stunning then-No. 7 Cornell, No. 9 Northeastern and No. 12 Yale by winning the Petite Final and clinching a berth to the IRAs.
The V8 boat started off the three-day event in impressive fashion with a 1.8 second victory over No. 4 California to avoid the repechage and advance directly to the semifinals.
For the first time since 2005, the Terriers took second in the semifinals to reach the Grand Final. BU stunned the Golden Bears yet again by six seconds and No. 5 Wisconsin by 11 seconds to avenge an earlier Jablonic Cup defeat.
The boat would finish sixth in the Grand Final on Saturday, helping BU finish seventh place overall in the team standings with 122 points, 23 more than the previous year.
