BOSTON - Paced by senior Rich Peters' second-place performance, the Boston University men's cross country team finished fourth at the 2013 New England Championships on Saturday at Franklin Park.
Peters turned in a time of 24:05 to earn his second consecutive runner-up finish at this event. Like in 2012, he was behind only Mike Biwott of American International as the duo replicated last year's finish.
The Terriers totaled 196 points as a team. Central Conn. State claimed first place with 74 points. This is the second straight year that BU has finished fourth.
Sophomore Kevin Thomas placed 27th with a time of 25:07 while classmate Alec Olson finished 34th with a mark of 25:15. Senior Michael Caputo (25:38) was 55th and junior Ben Ravetz (25:50) rounded out the BU scoring with his 78th-place performance. Sophomore Paul Gennaro (26:26) and junior John McKeon (27:08) also competed for the Terriers.
BU will be back in action on Nov. 2 when the Terriers make their Patriot League Championship debut.
