Moriello Finishes 25th at NCAA Northeast Regional

NEW YORK - Junior Rosa Moriello of the Boston University women's cross country team finished 25th at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park.
Moriello, who had won her previous three races this season, had a time of 20:59.9 to lead the Terriers. BU finished 14th in the team standings with 390 points and was the top Patriot League team in the region.
Sophomore Michelle Sumner finished 66th (21:45.0) and classmate Shelby Stableford (21:48.5) was two spots back in 68th to round out the Terrier contingent in the top 100.
Junior Ashli Tagoai had a time of 22:25.3 and senior Nikki Long capped a terrific senior season with a time of 22:36.4. Sophomore Rachel Lotterman turned in a time of 22:41.1 while freshman Felicia Sciortino crossed the finish line in 23:01.3. All seven harriers were in the top 165 of the 250-athlete field.
The Terriers concluded their successful 2013 season at the Northeast Regional. BU won its first-ever Patriot League Title on Nov. 2, with Moriello named Female Runner of the year and Bruce Lehane named Coach of the Year.
