After hitting the game-winning free throw with 1.7 seconds left in regulation against St. Peter's to finish with a career and game-high 21 points, sophomore Nathan Dieudonne of the Boston University men's basketball team has been named GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
The Terriers entered the game averaging 8.0 made 3-pointers per game but only went 3-of-21 (.158) against the Peacocks. A 6-foot-7 forward from Louisville, Ky., Dieudonne took over on the offensive end by shooting 6-of-9 from the field and hitting 9-of-12 free throws to top his previous high of 16 points. He also added a game-high nine rebounds to lead the defense.
With the score tied at 65-65, he received the ball near the top of the key and quickly drove to the basket, drawing the foul while attempting a layup. He then sank the first free throw for the victory.
Dieudonne is currently averaging 9.1 ppg after finishing his rookie campaign at 4.5 ppg.
