CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After scoring a career-best 14 points against Vermont, freshman Meghan Green of the Boston University women’s basketball team was named Patriot League Anaconda Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The Terriers (5-8) closed out the non-conference portion of their schedule with an 80-62 triumph over former America East Vermont on Sunday afternoon in Burlington, Vt. Green was second on the team with 14 points in efficient 16 minutes off the bench for BU.
The Bedford, N.H., native shot 5-of-7 from the field and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while adding an assist, rebound and block to her stat line. Ten of Green’s 14 points came in the first half, as the Terriers built a double-digit lead over the Catamounts that they held for the remainder of the game.
Green is the first member of the women’s basketball team to receive a weekly honor from the Patriot League. The forward has appeared in eight games for the Terriers and is averaging 3.6 ppg and 1.8 rpg.
The Terriers will play their first-ever Patriot League game on Thursday (Jan. 2) when they travel to Worcester, Mass., to face Holy Cross. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
