Olson Named Patriot League Runner of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Sophomore Alec Olson of the Boston University men's cross country team was named Patriot League Male Runner of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Olson was victorious at the Ted Owen Invitational this past Saturday, crossing the finish line with a time of 26:09.79. He was nearly eight seconds faster than the next closest competitor and helped the Terriers secure second place as a team.
The Excelsior, Minn., native is the first BU harrier to earn Patriot League Male Runner of the Week accolades. Saturday marked his first collegiate victory; his previous best finish was ninth at the UNH Invitational last year.
BU will be back in action on Oct. 12 when it hosts the New England Championships at Franklin Park.
