BU Sweeps First Meet of the Season

BOSTON - The Boston University men's and women's swimming and diving team began its season on Saturday with both squads beating Lehigh in the BU Competition Pool. The men's team totaled 178 points while the women's team tallied 169.
The teams had a combined 20 first place finishes with the men's side taking first 11 times and the women nine times.
Andy Vazquez led the Terriers with three first-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle and as the anchor in the 200-yard medley.
Mun Hon Lee and Connor Stuewe each had two first-place finishes with Lee winning the 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly and Stuewe winning the 100-yard backstroke and leading off the first-place 200-yard medley relay team.
On the women's side, Nikki Bookwalter was the only BU swimmer to finish first twice. The freshman took first in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events.
In the diving pool, the Terriers swept the competition, taking first on the one-meter and three-meter boards in both the men's and women's competition.
Adam Gross won both men's events while Lizzie Tillo finished in first on the one-meter and Kyra Tatlow finished first on the three-meter.
