
Terriers Earn 3 Top-Ten Finishes at Princeton Chase

RESULTS
Highlighted by a victory over Princeton in the lightweight women’s varsity eight race, the Boston University women's rowing team continued its impressive fall season at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase on Sunday in Princeton, N.J.
In the women’s varsity 8 race, the Terriers’ lightweight V8 boat finished 20th in the large and deep field of 50 with a time of 15:54.30, well ahead of host Princeton’s lightweight A’s time of 17:41.050 and faster than openweight A boats from MIT and George Washington. BU’s lightweight B boat finished 31st with a time of 16:38.178, also well ahead of Princeton.
Later in the day, the lightweights competed in the varsity 4 competition, finishing a very strong 10th in a field of 31 predominately openweight boats. Again the Terriers were first among lightweight, finishing with a time of 17:32.056, ahead of Princeton (17:45.232) and Georgetown (18:28.680) and better than top openweight boats from Penn, BC, George Washington and Georgetown.
Also competing at the Chase on Sunday were two Boston University novice openweight eight boats. Racing in a field of 15, the Terriers A boat placed eighth with a time of 16:56.405 while the B took 11th with a time of 18:35.155. The BU lightweight novice A took ninth in the race while the lightweight B finished a strong 14th.
Next up for the Terriers will be the Small Boat Regatta on Nov. 1 in Princeton, N.J.
