
Terriers Race at CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITIAN, Conn. - The Boston University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet on Friday afternoon.
The men's team placed 10th with 288 points while the women finished 14th with 376 points. BU bested nine other teams on the men's side, including Patriot League foe Holy Cross.
Senior Alex Civitano led the men's side with a time of 15:41.48, good for a top-40 finish. Classmate John McKeon had a time of 15:50.92, followed by sophomore Ethan Homan (15:51.89) and senior Matt Solomon (15:52.55); all three harriers were in the top 60. Also competing for BU were junior Syian Srikumar (16:12.69), freshman Liam O'Connell (16:15.20) and senior Zach Marriott (16:34.93).
Junior Erin Piece led the women's squad with a 26th-place finish thanks to a time of 10:40.72. Freshman Paige Ferrucci posted a time of 11:29.70, followed by classmates Alexia Zawadzke (11:30.20) and Jenny Mistretta (11:38.54). Colleen Tretheway had a time of 11:40.95 while freshman Gabrielle DiRenzo finished with a time of 11:46.91.
BU will be back in action next weekend (Nov. 1) at the Patriot League Championships hosted by Lehigh. The women will defend their title at 11 a.m. before the men race at 12 p.m.
