
BU Starts Home Schedule With Harvard

BOSTON - The Boston University women's basketball team opens its home schedule on Monday night when cross-town rival Harvard visits for a 7 p.m. game in Case Gym. The Terriers have kept it local to open the season, playing Northeastern last Friday night.
THE SERIES
This is the 30th meeting between the Terriers (0-1) and the Crimson (1-0), who beat BU at home last season, 76-67. Harvard is ahead in the series 15-14, winning the last four contests.
LAST TIME OUT
Boston U. lost a heartbreaker to Northeastern on Friday afternoon to open the season, losing 75-74 to the Huskies after battling back from a nine-point deficit in the second half. Three Terriers were in double digit scoring, with Mollie McKendrick leading the team with 19 points, Clodagh Scannell scoring 14 and Meghan Green tallying 11 points.
A LOOK AT THE TERRIERS
BU returns six players and has four new faces this season and is led by the lone senior Mollie McKendrick, who shares captain duties with sophomore Courtney Latham. Troi Melton and Clodagh Scannell are the only other upperclassmen on the squad.
McKendrick is the team's top returning scorer, averaging 9.1 points per game last season and opening the year with a 19-point performance against the Huskies.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard returns two of its top three point scorers from last season. Senior Temi Fagbenle had the second highest scoring average from last season (13.0 ppg) while Erin McDonnell averaged 9.0 ppg.
In the Crimson's first outing against Colgate, which it won 68-53, Fagbenle lived up to her name and led the team with 17 points. Fellow senior Kaitlyn Dinkins had a career-high 14 points in the win, hitting 4-of-5 three pointers in the win.

The Terriers started the year at Northeastern, losing a 75-74 heartbreaker before opening their home schedule against Harvard on Monday. BU will finish its tour of Beantown with a stop at Boston College on Friday afternoon.
