CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - After averaging a double-double and helping lead the Boston University women's basketball team to a pair of victories, sophomore Meghan Green has been named the Lids Team Sports Player of the Week, the Patriot League announced Monday afternoon.
The honor marks the sophomore forward's second weekly award after she was recognized as the Rookie of the Week last season. For the week, she averaged 18.3 ppg and 10.3 rpg while shooting an impressive 52.6 percent from the field and 91.7 percent at the charity stripe.
A native of Bedford, N.H., she netted a career-high 19 points and added seven rebounds to help the Terriers rally from a 17-point deficit for the 63-62 win over Harvard.
Green then topped her career high with 22 points and 15 rebounds in a loss at Boston College before wrapping up the week with 14 points and nine rebounds in the 66-61 victory over Vermont.
The Terriers will next open the New Mexico Thanksgiving Tournament against the host Lobos on Friday, Nov. 28 at 9 p.m. ET.
